Costa Rican FA president Rodolfo Villabolos warns Real Madrid against selling number one goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

Costa Rican FA president Rodolfo Villalobos has warned Real Madrid against selling Keylor Navas.

Navas, 30, has been Madrid's number one goalkeeper in each of the last three seasons, and played a key role in the team winning a La Liga and Champions League double last term.

Speculation surrounding the Costa Rican's future refuses to go away, however, with suggestions that Los Blancos are lining up a January deal for Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Villalobos has branded Navas "a fundamental part of the titles the club has won", and has insisted that the Spanish giants would be the losers if the former Levante stopper were allowed to depart.

"I think that Navas has been surrounded by rumours ever since he arrived at Real Madrid. At Real Madrid he has been a fundamental part of the titles the club has won," Villalobos told Marca.

"He has demonstrated that he deserves to be at Real Madrid. If Navas were to leave, Real Madrid would lose more than he would. He is writing his own story at Real Madrid and we hope that he stays there for many years."

Navas signed a six-year contract with Real Madrid following his move from Levante in the summer of 2014.
