Report: Real Madrid open Augusto Batalla talks

Real Madrid have reportedly opened talks with River Plate over the signing of teenage goalkeeper Augusto Batalla.

The 18-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best stoppers in South America and has been linked with a number of clubs in recent months.

However, according to Goal.com, Los Blancos are close to signing the Argentine on an initial loan deal, with the option to make the move permanent next summer.

It is understood that Batalla would initially link up with Real Madrid Castilla.

Batalla has not yet made his senior debut for River Plate.
