Report: Arsenal lodge £42m Luis Suarez bid

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly made a £42m bid for Liverpool forward Luis Suarez.

The Gunners, who appear to have missed out on Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain, have been strongly linked with a move for the 26-year-old this summer.

Thus far Liverpool have repelled interest in the Uruguayan, but according to Goal.com, Arsenal have further tested their resolve with an offer in the region of £42m.

Suarez, who has indicated a desire to leave Anfield this summer, will be banned for the first six games of the league season.
