Real Madrid 'turned down Dusan Vlahovic deal due to Kylian Mbappe pursuit'

Real Madrid reportedly turned down the opportunity to involve themselves in the race for Dusan Vlahovic in January.

Fiorentina ultimately received their asking price last month, triggering the sale of the Serbia international to Juventus for a fee which could rise to £67m.

However, according to Cadena Ser, Fiorentina made contact with Los Blancos as soon as Juventus expressed a willingness to meet those demands.

The report suggests that La Viola had hoped for a more lucrative proposal from the La Liga giants, only for club officials to reject the chance to move for the in-demand forward.

Real allegedly intend on prioritising the acquisition of Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, who is currently expected to be available on a free transfer in the summer.

Karim Benzema also remains first choice down the middle of the Real attack, despite having recently turned 34 years of age.
