Real Madrid 'tell Navas he is not in their plans'

Real Madrid have reportedly told Keylor Navas that he has no future at the club and is free to leave at the end of the season.

Navas lost his place as Madrid's first-choice goalkeeper upon the arrival of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea last summer, but Courtois's underwhelming form during his debut campaign at the Bernabeu had led to suggestions that Navas might win his place back.

However, AS reports that manager Zinedine Zidane has now decided to keep faith with the Belgian and will therefore allow Navas to leave this summer.

Zidane had handed Navas six of his nine league appearances this season, but Sunday's finale against Real Betis is expected to be his last game for the club.

The Costa Rica international's contract at Madrid expires next year and the Spanish giants are now keen to cash in on him, with rumoured interest from the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal.

Luca Zidane - the son of Zinedine - could subsequently step up as a replacement for Navas, who joined Madrid in 2014 and helped the club to three consecutive Champions League titles in addition to eight other trophies.
