A report claims that Neymar does not have a £198m release clause in his Paris Saint-Germain contract, as manager Unai Emery provides an update on the situation.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly warned rival sides that unsettled forward Neymar does not have a release clause in his big-money contract.

Three months on from his £198m switch from Barcelona, the 25-year-old is rumoured to be angling for a move back to the Spanish top flight.

Only Barca and Real Madrid could realistically afford to land Neymar, who is alleged to have an identical £198m clause written into his PSG deal.

According to Culture PSG, though, no such stipulation exists and the Parisians will not bow to demands to offload him for a cut-price fee.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, meanwhile, boss Unai Emery said: "It's the same for all players when they are adapting to a new city, a new club, new teammates and that sort of thing. It's a process and it's like that with all of the new guys. Conversations with all of the players, Neymar included, are to discuss all of those sorts of things - he's doing better and better.

"What happens on the pitch remains the most important thing. All of these rumours are not important. What counts are the discussions that I have with him – how to be in the squad, on the pitch but also about him. Players are professionals but they are also people.

"Some need affections, others need guidance. First of all, though, they need to be understood. We are very happy with him and he will succeed here. I don't know what is being said. Everybody here is happy though. He will stay and succeed here."

Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has refused to rule out making a move for the Brazil international in the future.
