Monchi not worried about losing players

Sevilla sporting director Monchi plays down suggestions that the Spanish club could be forced into selling their key players this summer.

Sevilla sporting director Monchi is confident that key duo Federico Fazio and Ivan Rakitic will remain with the Spanish outfit next season.

A brilliant 2013-14 campaign for centre-back Fazio has reportedly further intensified interest in the Argentine.

Meanwhile, Rakitic is widely regarded as one of the best playmakers in European football, with Real Madrid and Barcelona both strongly linked with the Croatian.

"Fede his happy at Sevilla, he has another great season and his life is settled here. We've made moves to try and improve his contract and increase his release clause. This is one subject that I'm not worried about," he told Sevilla TV.

"As for Rakitic, everything has been agreed upon, his contract is on the table, with wage conditions and clauses that he's agreed upon, but he decided to take some time.

"We had coffee before going to Milan and spoke about the watch he wanted for winning UEFA SuperCup and how great it would be to win in Cardiff. Other than that, only he knows what will happen next. In the celebration, he said he wanted to win many titles with Sevilla."

Sevilla finished fifth in La Liga last season in addition to winning the Europa League.
