Robert Lewandowski 'open to Bayern Munich extension'

Lewandowski 'open to Bayern extension'

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has said that he is open to extending his contract with the German champions.

The Poland international still has three-and-a-half years on his current deal, but he could sign a new contract to ward off any interest this summer.

Lewandowski's agent has said that initial talks have been held and the player appears open to remaining in Munich for the foreseeable future.

"I know there is interest for me abroad, but I can well conceive of extending due to a great team and good teamwork - because the club is known to recognise achievements," Lewandowski told German publication Bild.

Spanish giants Real Madrid have been linked with the 27-year-old, who has scored 31 goals in 31 games in all competitions this season.
