Real Madrid stalwart Karim Benzema is reportedly set to be handed a new two-year deal with the capital giants.
The former Lyon man turns 35 next year and has been facing an uncertain future with Los Blancos, who are still being tipped to move for Kylian Mbappe or Erling Braut Haaland.
Benzema's existing deal with the Bernabeu giants is due to expire at the end of the 2021-22 season, meaning that he could walk away for free in under 12 months' time if no new contract is agreed.
However, Marca reports that the France international is set to put pen to paper on a one-year extension, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2023.
The report adds that negotiations with Benzema over new deals have always gone smoothly since his arrival at the club 12 years ago, as the veteran striker has never asked for a salary increase in the Spanish capital.
Benzema netted four goals at Euro 2020 following his reinstatement to the French squad, and he hit the 30-goal mark from 46 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid last season.
