Jese Rodriguez "very happy" at Real Madrid

Spanish attacker Jese Rodriguez plays down speculation that he wants to leave Real Madrid.

Jese Rodriguez has insisted that he is "very happy" at Real Madrid amid speculation that the Spaniard could leave the Bernabeu.

The 22-year-old burst onto the scene last season, netting eight times in 31 games for the Spanish side up until March 2013, when he suffered a serious knee injury.

Jese returned to fitness earlier this season, but has thus far struggled for minutes due to the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.

The youngster scored in Saturday's 3-0 win over Eibar, however, and has played down speculation that he wants to leave Madrid.

"I'm here to carry out anything the coach asks of me. I'd retire at Madrid. I came here as a 13-year-old, I'm now 22 and I'd like to leave when I'm 40," he told reporters.

"I'm very happy here. This is the club of my life. The coach had the same injury as mine [when he was a player] and he knows how I've felt.

"It was a process which took many months. I'll finish the season strongly, I'm sure. It was a tough injury, but there have been players with the same injury who got less minutes than me."

A number of European clubs are believed to be interested in taking the attacker on loan.
