The father of Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has revealed that the Spaniard is yet to decide whether to extend his current contract with the La Liga outfit.
Alonso's deal with Madrid is due to expire next summer, but the former Liverpool midfielder has thus far not offered any indication that he will put pen to paper.
"What he wants to do is to wait a bit to see what happens and how things go, and then, when the time is right, he'll make the appropriate decision," Periko Alonso told Marca.
"It's as simple as that - there's nothing else to it."
Alonso joined Madrid from Liverpool in 2009.
