How Real Madrid could line up against Real Betis

How Real Madrid could line up against Real Betis

Real Madrid will be looking to secure their first win of the 2020-21 La Liga season when they head to Seville to face Real Betis on Saturday night.

Zinedine Zidane's side opened their new campaign with a goalless draw at Real Sociedad last weekend.

Betis have made an encouraging start to their season, beating Alaves and Real Valladolid in their first two matches, while they are unbeaten in their last three league games with Los Blancos.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Madrid, who are bidding to win back-to-back La Liga titles, could line up when they take to the field against Manuel Pellegrini's team.

Out: Mariano Diaz (mouth) Doubtful: Eden Hazard (ankle), Marco Asensio (knee), Isco (ankle), Eder Militao (muscle), Lucas Vazquez (fitness)

Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio have both made progress in their recoveries from ankle and knee issues, but it seems unlikely that either player will be named in the starting XI on Saturday night.

Mariano Diaz is actually the team's only confirmed absentee at this stage, with Eder Militao, Lucas Vazquez and Isco all potentially being available for selection following recent issues.

The team is expected to have a similar look to the one that started against Sociedad last time out, though, with Ferland Mendy likely to keep his spot at left-back ahead of Marcelo.

Casemiro was surprisingly left out of the XI at the Anoeta as Martin Odegaard started, but the former could be recalled alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the middle of the park.

Odegaard's spot for this game was in doubt due to a coronavirus scare, but the Norway international has returned a second negative test and is therefore available for selection.

Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes supported Karim Benzema in the final third against Sociedad and that is again expected to be the case in Seville on Saturday night.
