How Real Madrid could line up against Levante

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Saturday's La Liga clash with Levante.

Real Madrid will be looking to return to winning ways in Spain's top flight when they travel to Levante on Saturday evening.

Los Blancos were held to a 2-2 draw by Celta Vigo at the Bernabeu last weekend but are still top of La Liga, one point clear of second-placed Barcelona ahead of the next set of matches.

Zinedine Zidane's side are likely to have one eye on next week's Champions League last-16 clash with Manchester City, although the capital giants will be determined to enter the European tie off the back of their 16th league win of the 2019-20 campaign.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Madrid could line up in Valencia on Saturday night.

Madrid will again be without the services of injured pair Mariano Diaz and Marco Asensio, while James Rodriguez remains a doubt as he battles to recover from a hip problem.

Gareth Bale and Luka Jovic both missed Wednesday's training session through illness, meanwhile, and it remains to be seen whether either returns in time for this weekend's contest.

Eden Hazard should keep his spot in the XI as he works back to full fitness, although there are expected to be alterations from the side that started against Celta last weekend.

Indeed, Luka Modric, Ferland Mendy and Isco are all in line for starts, with Toni Kroos potentially being rested ahead of the upcoming Champions League last-16 clash with City.

Vinicius Junior is also pushing for a spot in the team, but Karim Benzema will again lead the line as the Frenchman goes in search of his 14th league goal of the season.
