How Real Madrid could line up against Girona

How Real Madrid could line up against Girona

Real Madrid will be missing David Alaba for Saturday's La Liga contest with an in-form Girona.

Alaba had to be substituted in the latter stages of the first period against Las Palmas due to a thigh problem, and the Austria international will now be absent this weekend.

Antonio Rudiger suffered a knock in the same match, but the centre-back has been passed fit.

Los Blancos remain without the services of Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao due to long-term knee problems, while Arda Guler suffered a fresh issue earlier this week and is set for another spell on the sidelines.

Vinicius Junior made his injury comeback off the bench against Las Palmas, though, and the Brazil international will return to the XI for this match.

Dani Carvajal also overcame a muscular problem to make the bench on Wednesday, and the Spaniard should now come into the starting side at right-back, with Nacho switching to the middle of the defence.

Fran Garcia and Jude Bellingham are also set to return, having been named on the bench against Las Palmas, with head coach Carlo Ancelotti shuffling his pack.

Joselu has now scored three league goals this season, while Rodrygo has just one, but the latter should retain his spot in the XI on Saturday; Luka Modric and Toni Kroos could also start on the bench once again.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup: Kepa; Carvajal, Rudiger, Nacho, F Garcia; Valverde, Tchouameni, Camavinga; Bellingham; Vinicius, Rodrygo
