Boss Zinedine Zidane says that Real Madrid can still claim second place in La Liga, despite remaining four points behind second-placed Atletico Madrid.

Boss Zinedine Zidane has insisted that his side can still earn second place in the La Liga standings come the end of the season.

On Sunday, Real were held to a 1-1 draw by city rivals Atletico Madrid, who remain four points clear of Zidane's side in second position with just seven matches remaining.

Valencia also moved ahead of Real courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Espanyol, but Zidane is focusing on the positives with his own team.

The 45-year-old is quoted by Marca as saying: "We want it and we will try to achieve it.

"Against Atleti we had many chances, we did many things to win but the goal is always the same, try to cut the deficit and reach second place."

Real are next in La Liga action when they travel to Malaga next Sunday.
