Zinedine Zidane "not worried" by European Super Cup absentees

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane plays down the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe, Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos from his side's European Super Cup meeting with Sevilla.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has played down the absence of a number of key players for tonight's European Super Cup clash with Sevilla.

Los Blancos will travel to Norway without the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe, Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos following their exploits at Euro 2016 this summer.

The latter pair have only recently returned to training, while Portugal's Ronaldo, who picked up an injury in the Euro 2016 final, and Pepe are due to report back on Wednesday.

"I'm not worried by the players that aren't available. They've been at the European Championship and then have had their holidays, that's to be expected," Zidane told reporters.

"I would have liked to have everyone with us, but it's for the best that Kroos and Bale stay back and train in Madrid, because they've only just reported back.

"Cristiano and Pepe are getting better and they'll be back on August 10."

This year's Super Cup will be the third time in a row that it has been contested between two Spanish clubs.
