Zinedine Zidane hails Real Madrid as 'most important club in history'

Real Madrid Zinedine Zidane brushes off criticism of his side's attacking firepower, claiming that Los Blancos are "the most important club in history".

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has claimed that his side are "the most important club in history" as Los Blancos look to secure the 2019-20 La Liga title.

Zidane's men will move four points clear of closest challengers Barcelona with victory over Granada on Monday evening as they endeavour to achieve La Liga glory for the first time since 2017.

However, three of Real's last four victories have come courtesy of a 1-0 scoreline, and three of their last four goals have been penalties, but Zidane has brushed off criticism of his side ahead on Monday's clash with Granada.

Speaking in a press conference, Zidane said: "I'm not bothered or surprised by what people say. We only have the obligation to show that we are good. Everyone has their opinion.

"This is the most important club in history and that isn't going to change."

During his two stints as Los Blancos manager, Zidane has guided Real to one La Liga title and three Champions League crowns since first taking charge in 2016.
