Jorge Valdano tips Raul to manage Real Madrid

Valdano tips Raul to manage Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid sporting director Jorge Valdano has tipped long-serving striker Raul to become the Spanish club's new manager in the future.

Raul, who represented Los Blancos between 1994 and 2010, is currently with Al Sadd, but will reportedly retire from professional football at the end of the season.

"Raul admires Germans much more than Brazilians. It's his destiny to be the [Pep] Guardiola of Real Madrid but with their own identity, not to be comparable to Pep," he told Panenka.

"I believe that he's preparing for that and I'm very eager to see it. More than he is. He will give depth to Real Madrid."

Raul also scored 44 times in 102 games for Spain.
