Several Real Madrid players take to social media to thank Zinedine Zidane for his services to the La Liga club, following his departure on Thursday.

Several players in the Real Madrid squad have taken to social media to pay their tributes to former coach Zinedine Zidane, who announced his departure from the club on Thursday.

The Frenchman leaves Madrid after three seasons in charge, with three Champions League trophies and a La Liga title to his name.

Many of the players to feature for Los Blancos under Zidane have thanked the 45-year-old for his services to the club.

Sergio Ramos: "Mister, as a player and now as a coach you decided to leave at the top. Thank you for the two and a half years of work, love and friendship. You may be leaving, but your legacy will never disappear. It's been one of the most successful chapters in the history of our beloved Real Madrid."

Cristiano Ronaldo: "I'm just proud of being your player. Mister, thank you so very much."

Isco: "It's been an honour to work with you, to learn from you every single day and to win things together. You've managed to make this team historic, I wish you the best of luck."

Javier Tebas: "I want to thank Zinedine Zidane for his great work and the enormous talent he's left behind at Real Madrid. His words suggesting the LaLiga title was the greatest triumph of his coaching career are a great recognition to this competition, it's the best in the world."

Dani Carvajal: "I just want to thank you for these two and half years as our coach, you've been an incredible professional, as have your staff members. I've learned a lot as a player and a person from you, I wish you the best. Thank you Zidane."

Alvaro Arbeloa: "I know how difficult it is to say goodbye to Real Madrid. Nobody in the history of this club has done better than you, now I can only ask for a handkerchief and thank you for letting us enjoy your magic whilst we could. Come back soon."

Marcelo: "Mister Zizou, I've learnt a lot at your side. I've enjoyed learning like a child from every training session and every piece of advice. You're very special to me, you've made history with your work, dedication, passion and, above all, humility. Thank you."

Lucas Vazquez: "It's been a real pleasure to play under your tutelage. You're a legend as a player and now also as a coach. It's been an honour to learn and win by your side, I wish you the best. Thanks, and see you soon."

Casemiro: "I have no words to thank you for everything you've done for this team, and for Real Madrid as a club. It's been an honour and a privilege to have had my idol as my coach. I'm eternally grateful Zizou."

Zidane also won the Champions League and La Liga as a player at the Santiago Bernabeu.
