Marcelo: 'El Clasico won't be decisive'

Real Madrid full-back Marcelo insists that the meeting with Barcelona later this month will not be decisive in the title race.

Real Madrid full-back Marcelo has claimed that the meeting with Barcelona will not be decisive in the La Liga title race.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are currently two points clear at the top of the table, and it has been suggested that a win in El Clasico on March 22 would make them uncatchable, but Marcelo has attempted to play down the importance of the game at Camp Nou.

"It will be a key game, but so is Athletic and Levante," the Brazilian told O Globo.

"I do not believe the Clasico will be decisive in the title race."

Real return to action with a trip to Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
