Dani Carvajal has said that while it is "nice" to equal Barcelona's record of 16 straight La Liga victories, Real Madrid are only interested in winning trophies this season.
Sunday's 2-0 victory at Espanyol maintained Real Madrid's 100% start to the new campaign and saw them record a 16th straight league victory, which is a run that stretches back to February.
Carvajal, however, has called on his team to focus ahead of Wednesday's league clash with also-unbeaten Villarreal at the Bernabeu.
"It's a nice record to equal the 16 victories, but we must keep thinking game by game. Now we are thinking about three points on Wednesday against Villarreal, but what we are seeing is a reflection of the great work from Zidane and the team," Carvajal told reporters.
"La Liga has just started, we are going into matchday five and there are 38 [matchdays]. We think about adding three [points] because last year at the end we lost by one point. All are important and we are not going to give any away."
Real Madrid have now beaten Real Sociedad, Celta Vigo, Osasuna and Espanyol in the league this season.
