Dani Carvajal ready for Danilo battle at Real Madrid

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal welcomes the competition provided by Danilo for the right-back position at the Spanish club this season.

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has insisted that he is ready to battle Danilo for the right-back spot at the Bernabeu this season.

Carvajal enjoyed a strong 2014-15 campaign on the right side of the Real Madrid defence, but Danilo's arrival from Porto has provided the Spaniard with a strong rival.

"Competition is always good for the team. Madrid will benefit. Danilo is a great player. Any coach wants two players for a position and a problem in who to start," Carvajal, 23, has been quoted as saying by AS.

"We'll try to make it difficult for the coach to solve that problem."

Carvajal and Danilo have alternated the right-back position during the early stages of pre-season.
