Real Madrid director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno has praised the 'completeness' of the current squad.

Real Madrid director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno has claimed that the current squad is the best in the club's history.

Madrid currently sit top of La Liga, ten points clear of Barcelona, and Butragueno has hailed the 'completeness' of the squad.

"This is probably Real Madrid's best-ever squad. I really think this is the most complete team in the club's history," he told Marca.

"Just look at the situation of Gonzalo Higuain for example. He is one of the best attackers in the world and he has hardly played in recent months. Karim Benzema has returned to the team and has scored a lot.

"We are talking about a very complete squad here. Jose Mourinho has so many options to form a team of the highest level."

Butragueno played for the Spanish club from 1984 until 1995.
