Karim Benzema honoured by Cristiano Ronaldo praise

Karim Benzema has revealed that he is honoured by how highly he is thought of by Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

The duo ran amok in Sunday's 5-0 win over Athletic Bilbao, with Ronaldo grabbing a hat-trick while his French counterpart struck twice.

The Ballon d'Or holder claimed afterwards that Benzema was the best striker in Spain, comments that the 26-year-old has taken plenty of heart from.

"It's a pleasure to hear it from him, because right now he's the best player in the world and he knows a little about this. I really appreciate it," the France hitman told Marca.

Both players have netted 20 times between them for Los Blancos so far this season.
