Rafael Benitez closes in on Real Madrid job?

Rafael Benitez is reportedly on his way to Spain to become the new manager of Real Madrid.

The 54-year-old has been the favourite to take the reins at the Santiago Bernabeu since Carlo Ancelotti was sacked last week.

Benitez will leave current club Napoli following the conclusion of the Serie A season and it is widely expected that he will return to his homeland to take charge of Real.

According to AS, he told reporters: "I am ready, I can't wait to be there."

Benitez has also managed Liverpool, Chelsea and Inter Milan during his career.
