David Albelda angered by Spanish club's spending

David Albelda reveals his envy at the amount of money Barcelona and Real Madrid have to spend on new players.

David Albelda has claimed that Valencia could perform miracles if they had the amount of money that Real Madrid and Barcelona have at their disposal.

The Spanish veteran is angry that Barcelona have signed Jordi Alba from Valencia this summer and that Luka Modric is being pursued by Real Madrid, despite the two clubs dominating La Liga last season.

Albelda said: "In the last few seasons they have been spending more and more and soon they have all the best players, two for each position.

"This year they have come and taken from us, or we have sold, like with Jordi Alba.

"Real Madrid are the current champions of the league and had over a 100 points and their squad will not need many changes to it. Now they are after Modric and are talking about 30 or 40 million euros, we could perform miracles with that kind of money."

Despite Madrid's interest in Modric, bookmakers have cut the odds on the Croatian moving to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
