Real Madrid injury update vs. Atletico: Kylian Mbappe, Eduardo Camavinga latest

Mbappe blow: Real Madrid injury, suspension update vs. Atletico

Real Madrid will be aiming to make it six straight wins in all competitions when they take on Atletico Madrid in the Madrid derby on Sunday night.

Carlo Ancelotti's side continued their strong run of form with a 3-2 victory over Alaves in La Liga on Tuesday night, with the result moving them onto 17 points from their opening seven games of the season.

Los Blancos are second in the table, four points behind the leaders Barcelona, who have a perfect record from their first seven matches of the 2024-25 campaign.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with fourth-placed Atletico at Wanda Metropolitano.

David Alaba

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Alaba suffered an ACL injury last December, which has required two operations to fix. The centre-back is making solid progress in his recovery, but he will not be back on the field until the end of this year.

Eduardo Camavinga

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: September 29 (vs. Atletico Madrid)

Camavinga suffered a knee injury in a training session ahead of the UEFA Super Cup in August, which has seen him miss the early stages of the new La Liga season, but the midfielder could be back for the Madrid derby.

Dani Ceballos

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

Ceballos picked up an ankle injury during Real Madrid's clash with Real Betis before the September international break, and the midfielder will be out for another few weeks.

Brahim Diaz

Status: Out Type of injury: Abductor Possible return date: Unknown

Real Madrid will be missing Brahim until at least the middle of November due to the hip abductor injury that he suffered against Real Sociedad after the September international break.

Kylian Mbappe

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Celta Vigo)

Real Madrid will be without the services of their leading goalscorer Mbappe until after the October international break due to the thigh problem that he suffered in the win over Alaves last time out.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Knock Possible return date: September 29 (vs. Atletico)

Carvajal was substituted against Espanyol last weekend due to "a knock", and he missed out against Alaves on Tuesday night, but the defender is expected to return for the Madrid derby.
