Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Celta Vigo

Real Madrid return to La Liga action on Saturday evening when they play host to Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are on a high having recorded a 4-0 aggregate success over Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals, prevailing 2-0 in the second leg at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

However, Los Blancos must now switch their attention back to league matters as they bid to chase down Barcelona's 11-point lead at the top of the standings with nine games remaining.

Left-back Ferland Mendy suffered a calf injury during a training session last month, and while no timeframe has been placed on his recovery, he is not expected back in the short term.

David Alaba was forced off at half time versus Chelsea due to what Ancelotti described as "a tight hamstring". With the fixtures that Real have in front of them, the Austria international will not be risked at the weekend.

While Karim Benzema lasted longer than Alaba at Stamford Bridge, his injury will be more concerning to Ancelotti who says that the Frenchman was carrying a foot issue which got worse throughout the game. As it stands, Benzema will be assessed ahead of the weekend, but he was been named in the initial squad.

Real Madrid have no suspended players for this match.
