Real Madrid injury, suspension news vs. Barcelona: Kylian Mbappe, Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, David Alaba updates

Mbappe, Mendy, Camavinga, Alaba latest: Real Madrid injury, suspension news vs. Barcelona

Real Madrid will be aiming to win for the Copa del Rey for the 21st time in their history when they tackle bitter rivals Barcelona in the final of the competition on Saturday night.

Los Blancos last lifted the trophy in 2022-23, and they are the third-most successful team in the history of the tournament behind Barcelona (31) and Athletic Bilbao (24).

Carlo Ancelotti's side will enter this match off the back of a 1-0 victory over Getafe, which moved them back to within four points of leaders Barcelona in the La Liga table.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of El Clasico.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Real Madrid remain without the services of Carvajal due to the severe knee injury that the right-back suffered in the clash with Villarreal on October 5, but the Spaniard has made excellent progress in his recovery, and a return for the Club World Cup is thought to be a possibility.

Eder Militao

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Real Madrid centre-back Militao damaged his ACL during a La Liga clash with Osasuna back in November, but he is now back on the training field, and a return for the Club World Cup is thought to be a possibility.

Ferland Mendy

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: April 26 (vs. Barcelona)

Mendy was forced off in the latter stages of the Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid on March 12 due to a muscular issue, which has sidelined him in recent weeks, but the defender is back in the squad this weekend.

Kylian Mbappe

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: April 26 (vs. Barcelona)

Mbappe suffered an ankle injury during the recent Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal; the Frenchman has missed Real Madrid's last two league games, one through suspension, and he now needs to be assessed before a final decision is made, but the expectation is that the forward will start El Clasico, having been named in the squad.

David Alaba

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: April 26 (vs. Barcelona)

Alaba suffered a muscular problem during the first half of Real Madrid's La Liga match against Getafe on Wednesday night, but the defender has been cleared to make the squad for El Clasico.

Eduardo Camavinga

Status: Out Type of injury: Adductor Possible return date: Unknown

Camavinga suffered an adductor injury in the latter stages of Real Madrid's game with Getafe, and the France international has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign, while he is also set to miss the Club World Cup.
