Live Commentary: Girona 1-3 Real Madrid - as it happened

Real Madrid booked their spot in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey courtesy of a 3-1 win over Girona in the second leg of their quarter-final in Catalonia on Thursday night.

Los Blancos were the strong favourites to advance ahead of kickoff, having recorded a 4-2 victory when the pair met in the first leg at the Bernabeu last week.

Karim Benzema netted twice for Madrid on the night, while Marcos Llorente was also on the scoresheet to hand the European champions a 7-3 aggregate victory.
