Team News: Real Madrid bench Gareth Bale for Champions League clash at Juventus

Real Madrid bench Wales star Gareth Bale for their trip to Juventus in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Real Madrid have benched Gareth Bale for their trip to Juventus in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Wales star does not make Zinedine Zidane's XI for the first leg at the Allianz Stadium, despite scoring twice during last weekend's 3-0 win at Las Palmas.

There is, however, room in the Los Blancos midfield for Isco, despite the Spain international not featuring against Paris Saint-Germain in the previous round.

Real will start with Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane at centre-back, with Nacho Fernandez out injured.

The visitors have set out a 4-4-2 stall, with Cristiano Ronaldo partnering Karim Benzema up front and Luca Modric taking on an advanced midfield position.

Juventus line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Gonzalo Higuain leading the attack, supported by Paulo Dybala, Alex Sandro and Douglas Costa.

The hosts are without defender Mehdi Benatia and midfielder Miralem Pjanic through suspension.

Juventus: Buffon; De Sciglio, Barzagli, Chiellini, Asamoah; Khedira, Bentancur; Douglas Costa, Dybala, Alex Sandro; Higuain
Subs: Szczesny, Rugani, Lichtsteiner, Matuidi, Marchisio, Cuadrado, Mandzukic

Real Madrid: Navas; Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo; Kroos, Casemiro, Isco, Modric; Ronaldo, Benzema
Subs: Casilla, Vallejo, Bale, Theo, Vazquez
