Zinedine Zidane: 'Legia Warsaw draw my fault'

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane says that 'it was his fault' that Los Blancos failed to beat Legia Warsaw in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has taken the blame for his team's 3-3 draw with Legia Warsaw in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Victory for Los Blancos would have seen them secure qualification for the round of 16 with two Group F fixtures to spare, but Legia came from two goals behind to take a point from a pulsating fixture.

Zidane has claimed that he was "not surprised" by the outcome of the match because his team "lacked a bit of everything" on the night.

"I'm not surprised with how the game went," Zidane told reporters. "It was a strange match and what we expected didn't happen, either in the game or in our performance.

"We lacked a bit of everything. When you score twice you can't take your foot off the gas, that's what we did and they scored. Then it was a very hard game. It's my fault, but in the end we didn't lose and that's good.

"There's a lot to analyse. When you go 2-0 up you need to think more and be more closed but we didn't do that and they could counter us. They scored and made the game more difficult for is. What we'll do is forget about this game and think in the weekend."

European champions Real Madrid sit two points behind Group F leaders Borussia Dortmund with two matches to play.
