Rio Ferdinand: 'Real Madrid not a team'

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Real Madrid are still 'a team of individuals'.

The Spanish giants have put one foot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after recording a 2-0 win at Roma in the first leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday night.

Ferdinand, however, has claimed that Bayern Munich and Barcelona are the two favourites to win the competition this season because of their ability to play as a team and not just rely on individual magic.

"The difference between Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid is that Bayern and Barcelona play as a team. Real still rely on individuals to win matches," Ferdinand told BT Sport.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Jese Rodriguez scored the goals for Real Madrid in Italy.
