Mourinho expects "very defensive" United

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho believes that Manchester United will take a "very defensive" approach against his team during their Champions League last-16 second-leg clash on Tuesday.

A goalless draw at Old Trafford would be enough for the Red Devils to progress to the quarter-finals, as the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu last month ended in a 1-1 draw.

"I think they will be very defensive when we have the ball and I think it will be the same for us when they have the ball," he told reporters on Monday.

"They are a strong attacking side and we will have to defend stoutly and well when they have the ball. It is 1-1 and we will have to attack when we have the ball. The last time I came here I lost with Inter in the Champions League, but I played here with Porto, Inter and Chelsea many times. I have won, drawn and lost here.

"I don't care about records, what I care in this moment is that tomorrow is the kind of match where anything can happen. I know football well enough and big matches well enough that we can go through or can go out tomorrow."

Madrid have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in each of the last two seasons.
