Cesc Fabregas "not impressed" by Real Madrid, Bayern Munich

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas plays down Real Madrid and Bayern Munich's recent Champions League results.

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has insisted that he was "not impressed" by Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in their recent Champions League encounters.

Los Blancos recorded a 6-1 win over Schalke 04 in the first leg of their last-16 tie, while Bayern were 2-0 winners at Arsenal.

"The Champions League does not usually see this kind of results (Madrid's comprehensive win) but I was not impressed," the 26-year-old told Mundo Deportivo.

"Schalke surrendered with the scoreline at 2-0, right after they could have made it 1-1. Neither does Bayern winning the German league and cup 90% of the time mean anything to me.

"They have a momentary 2-0 lead against an English team. We shall see in the end."

Bayern are the favourites to retain their Champions League crown this season.
