Neymar's record vs. Real Madrid

Ahead of Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League clash with Real Madrid, Sports Mole takes a look at Neymar's record against Los Blancos.

Paris Saint-Germain will hope to secure a passage into the quarter-finals of the Champions League when Real Madrid welcome them to the Santiago Bernabeu for Wednesday's last-16 second leg.

Kylian Mbappe struck the only goal of the game in the 94th minute to hand Les Parisiens a 1-0 first-leg win last month as Mauricio Pochettino aims to engineer a positive result in Madrid.

Neymar prepares for a swift reunion with Los Blancos after coming off the bench in the first leg, and the 30-year-old knows plenty about the capital giants from his time at Barcelona.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at Neymar's record versus Real Madrid ahead of Wednesday's tie.

Neymar's first-ever taste of El Clasico was a memorable affair for the then-21-year-old, who opened the scoring before setting up Alexis Sanchez in a 2-1 victory back in October 2013.

The Brazil international then proceeded to claim another two assists in a thrilling 4-3 triumph at the Bernabeu later that year, but he could not contribute as Barca lost 2-1 to Real in the final of the 2013-14 Copa del Rey.

Barca lost 3-1 at the Bernabeu in the 2014-15 season, although Neymar took all of four minutes to open the scoring in that encounter before Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe and Karim Benzema struck for Los Blancos.

Neymar drew a blank in a 2-1 home win later that year before the 2015-16 season, which saw the South American score one before turning provider for Andres Iniesta in an emphatic 4-0 win in the capital.

Prior to his exit from Barcelona in the summer of 2017, Neymar set up Luis Suarez's header in a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou, but he missed a final El Clasico with the capital giants later that season due to suspension.

Since his switch to the French capital, Neymar has only managed to register one assist in three Champions League appearances against Real Madrid, although his contribution was for Mbappe's winner in the first leg last month.

Overall, the ex-Santos starlet has registered three goals and six assists in 11 meetings with Real Madrid in all competitions, winning five, drawing two and losing four of those battles.

Only against Celtic (8) has Neymar managed to provide more assists versus a single club than Real, and Pochettino will need his Selecao star up to his usual tricks on the left-hand side if PSG are to advance to the last eight.
