Reading take Colorado Rapids' Dillon Powers on trial

Colorado Rapids midfielder Dillon Powers has joined Championship side Reading on trial following the end of the MLS season.

The Royals confirmed on their website that the 24-year-old would spend a short time training with the club.

Powers, who plays alongside former Reading striker Kevin Doyle with the Rapids, will now try to prove himself over the next two weeks during the Championship's international break.

A former USA Under-20 international, Powers has scored 13 MLS goals in 92 appearances since making his debut in 2013, a season in which he was named the league's Rookie of the Year.
