Reading near Steve Gohouri move?

Reading are understood to be nearing a deal for former Wigan Athletic defender Steve Gohouri.

The 31-year-old joined Maccabi Tel Aviv on a free transfer over the summer after an 18-month spell at the DW Stadium.

The Royals could now bring the Ivory Coast international back to the Premier League in the New Year as they look to boost their squad, according to The Sun.

Gohouri scored two goals in 44 games during his time with Wigan.
