Pavel Pogrebnyak: 'I turned down Saudi Arabian move'

Reading striker Pavel Pogrebnyak has revealed that he turned down the chance to sign for an unknown Saudi Arabian team this summer.

The 28-year-old spent a short period with Fulham last season, but had a host of offers to move abroad in the summer. However, he has insisted that he still has the ability to play at the top level.

"I don't really like this topic, but I can reveal that I had a good offer from a team in Saudi Arabia. I decided that it would be too early to go there and that I should be playing on a bigger stage," he told aif.ru.

The Russian has scored four goals for the Royals this season.
