Chris Baird unsure of future

Northern Ireland international Chris Baird is unsure whether he will sign a new deal with Reading.

Chris Baird has admitted that he is unsure whether he will sign a new deal with Reading.

The 31-year-old joined the club on an initial four-month contract after leaving Fulham, but his deal with the Championship outfit will soon come to an end.

"It's been a great start for me here. I'm playing football and that's the main thing. I'm really enjoying it and hopefully that can continue," he told reporters at a press conference.

"I'm happy here and we're getting results. If the club wants to speak to me, then I'll listen. So up until January, I'll keep doing what I can for Reading and we'll see what happens.

"At the end of the day it's down to the club. I'm very grateful to them for letting me come here. It's been great so far. All the players and staff have made me really welcome."

A number of clubs are believed to be monitoring developments.
