Reading cannot wrap up the Championship title as they are held to a 2-2 draw by Crystal Palace at the Madjeski Stadium.

Reading will have to wait before adding the Championship title to their promotion to the Premier League after being held to a 2-2 draw by Crystal Palace at the Madjeski Stadium this afternoon.

The Royals' promotion party was temporarily dampened when Wilfred Zaha gave the Eagles a surprise lead by poking home from Glenn Murray's cross.

Palace's advantage lasted all of six minutes as Kasper Gorkss headed the hosts level on 19 minutes. Paul McShane cleared the initial Reading effort off the line but Gorkss followed up to nod in from six yards.

Visiting boss Dougie Freedman was forced into two first-half changes as both McShane and Julian Speroni left the field injured.

Reading then went down to 10 men just before the break when Jason Roberts was shown a straight red card for a lunge on Jonathan Parr.

The numerical disadvantage didn't prevent Brian McDermott's side going in front as Adam Le Fondre converted from Noel Hunt's cross to put the Royals ahead.

However, the hosts couldn't hold out as Murray scored from close range on 75 minutes to earn Palace a point.

Reading will be crowned Champions if Southampton lose to Middlesbrough this evening.
