Preview: Reading vs. Rotherham United

Reading vs. Rotherham

Reading will be hoping to end a run of four defeats in their last five matches when they host Rotherham United in the Championship on Tuesday.

The Royals suffered a 3-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at the weekend, leaving them 15th in the table, six points above the relegation zone and eight short of the playoff places.

Hal Robson-Kanu is a doubt for the match after an off-the-ball incident left him with a heavily-bleeding head injury in Saturday's defeat, forcing him off with half an hour to spare.

Otherwise, Nigel Adkins should have the same players available that featured against Blackburn.

Meanwhile, Rotherham's strong recent form took a knock at the weekend as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough at the New York Stadium.

Steve Evans's side had been unbeaten in their previous five outings, but the loss saw them slip to 17th in the table, just five points outside the bottom three.

The manager is likely to be forced into a number of changes for the trip to the Madejski, with Alex Revell being forced off with an injury after just 25 minutes, while his replacement, Jordan Bowery, will be suspended after seeing red five minutes later.

This will be the first meeting between these two sides since 2005, with Rotherham taking a 1-0 win on that occasion.
