Report: Steve Clarke to be named Reading boss

Reading will appoint former West Bromwich Albion head coach Steve Clarke as their new manager, according to a report.

Reading will reportedly appoint Steve Clarke as their new manager, following the exit of Nigel Adkins.

The Royals dismissed Adkins on Monday following their poor start to the season, which leaves them 16th in the Championship table.

Clarke has been out of work since leaving his position as West Bromwich Albion head coach 12 months ago.

The Scot is set to make a return to football at Reading, according to talkSPORT.

If Clarke is appointed, his first match in charge could be against Watford on Saturday.
