Reading are reportedly contemplating an approach for Steve Bruce as they consider the future of current head coach Paul Clement.

Steve Bruce has reportedly emerged as a potential managerial target for Reading.

Bruce is currently out of work after being removed from his position as boss of Aston Villa earlier this month, and it has previously been suggested that the 57-year-old could take a break from the dugout.

However, according to The Sun, Reading are considering an approach for Bruce as the Royals continue to struggle towards the bottom of the Championship standings.

Reading sit two points adrift of safety in 22th place, and head coach Paul Clement has won just six times and lost on 14 occasions in his 25-game spell in charge.

Clement's side have also suffered four defeats in their last five outings ahead of back-to-back home matches with Bristol City and Ipswich Town.
