Reading striker Adam le Fondre has admitted that the Premier League is "demanding" for the newly-promoted side.
The Royals travel to Aston Villa for their third match in eight days, following the 3-2 defeat to Wigan Athletic at the weekend.
Le Fondre has pointed towards the difference in workload between the Championship and Premier League, but insisted that, despite the struggle, it is where the side want to be.
"Playing in the Championship last year it was Saturday-Tuesday, Saturday-Tuesday," le Fondre said. "The Premier League is a very demanding league, but it's where we want to be."
The 25-year-old also said that he was disappointed with the loss to Wigan, describing it as a "daft" result.
"Even if we had secured a 2-2 draw it would have been something to take into tomorrow," le Fondre added. "But I don't know what happened at the end, we gave another goal away and lost the game. To throw it away was daft.
Le Fondre joined Reading in 2011 from Rotherham United.
