Half-Time Report: Portsmouth hold shock lead over Reading

League Two Portsmouth are beating Championship side Reading 1-0 at half time of their League Cup match.

Neither side had a shot on target in the first 20 minutes, with Nick Blackman and Jayden Stockley both missing the target for their respective clubs.

Stephen Quinn had a go in the 18th minute but shot high and wide from long range, before Simon Cox's shot was blocked.

Portsmouth's Conor Chaplin finally tested Ali Al-Habsi in the 26th minute, but his shot was straight at the Oman international.

Hal Robson-Kanu then stung the hands of Paul Jones from long range.

Chaplin gave Portsmouth a shock lead in the 40th minute when he finished into the bottom right corner from a tight angle.
