Reading fined £100,000 following FA Cup pitch invasion

Reading fined £100,000 by FA

Reading have been fined £100,000 by the Football Association for failing to prevent a pitch invasion after their FA Cup quarter-final replay against Bradford City last season.

The Championship outfit won the match 3-0, but were found guilty of breaching FA rule E20 at the Madejski Stadium on March 16.

Reading challenged the charge of "failing to ensure that no spectators or unauthorised persons were permitted to encroach onto the pitch area", but have been subsequently found guilty by the FA.

The Royals reached the semi-finals of the competition, where they lost 2-1 to eventual winners Arsenal.
