Adkins thanks travelling Reading fans

Reading manager Nigel Adkins has said that he appreciated the club's fans for making the trip to see their 1-0 FA Cup loss to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

The Royals brought 2,154 fans with them to the Amex stadium, but left disappointed after Andrew Crofts's first-half strike.

After the game, Adkins told reporters: "It was great to see so many fans, the majority clapped at the end of the game, which is important.

"We've gone over and shown our appreciation for that.

"I think it's because they could see the lads never gave up, which is what we need."

Reading visit Watford in the league next Saturday.
