Malaga beat Rayo Vallecano 3-1 away from home to climb up to fifth in La Liga.

Malaga have enhanced their chances of finishing in the top four in La Liga this season with a 3-1 away win against Rayo Vallecano.

The Andalucian club made the breakthrough in Madrid after 21 minutes when Weligton headed home Pedro Morales's delivery from close range.

However, Malaga conceded the equaliser just after the half-hour mark when Willy Caballero brought down Tito inside his own area and Piti successfully converted the resulting spot kick.

However, Julio Baptista restored the visitors' advantage 10 minutes into the second half with a header following another good Morales delivery.

Morales himself found the target four minutes from time from outside the Rayo box to wrap up a 3-1 win for Malaga.

The result leaves Malaga fifth in the league table for the moment with 47 points from 29 matches.
