Ally McCoist is hoping that Rangers can wrap up a deal for Bilel Mohsni, who has been on trial.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has admitted that he is hoping to sign trialist Bilel Mohsni on a permanent deal this summer.

Mohsni has been on trial at the Glasgow club for the past week and McCoist has now revealed that he has been impressed with the French centre-back.

"I thought Bilel did well again at Elgin and we'll obviously have a wee chat with him and his agent in the next 24 hours," Sky Sports News quotes McCoist as saying.

"We'll see if we can maybe take things a little bit further. No decision has been made yet and I want to hear his views as well.

"It would be good to know if he has enjoyed himself and if he'd like to stay. He has certainly impressed us."

Mohsni previously played for Southend United and spent time last season on loan at Ipswich Town.
